ABOUT THE DESIGN:
Amalia’s visual style is recognized for its use of handwritten lettering and doodles, which over the years have become part of her identity. In Sola, we created the “tangle” as the main graphic element running through the book; alongside a collection of photography and illustrations, we move through each emotion, building Amalia’s universe in a much fresher, more modern version. The graphic concept was inspired by this line from Amalia’s book: “Remember that drawing or writing by hand means allowing ideas or lines to pass through the body.” This book reminds us of the importance of mental health in our lives and the complexity of the emotions we begin to recognize through the author’s story.
